After reading Elizabeth Balsom’s letter “Expunge the hard left and Starmer stands a chance” (January 17), Carol Wilcox (background : economics IT)wrote:
If Jeremy Corbyn had become prime minister in 2017 — which would have happened if all of the mainstream media and most of the Parliamentary Labour party and staff hadn’t been working against him – we would have had:
- a friction-free Brexit,
- renationalisation of water,
- gas,
- electricity,
- the railways
- and the NHS,
- abolition of tuition fees,
- free broadband,
- increased funding of local authorities,
- social care,
- education
- and the justice system . . .
And asked. “Whoever would have wanted that?”
